Surfer hair style for semi-curly hair?

Well, to start it out with my mom has purely straight hair, and my dad had a fro in college.... so my hair has lots of waves, with curling happening at the edges (medium size curls, about 1 in in diameter)....like where the end of the hairline meets my skin.

1st of all, i was wondering of a non-intensive (chemical) product that will make the curls straighter...

2ndly i need a product that will keep my hair hydrated throughout the day (non-crunchy or hardening)...just something that will keep my hair very soft and pliable (when it dries out, it gets frizzy)

3rdly when i finish washing my hair, most of the curls are gone, but i'd like to keep it that way after all the water evaps. from my hair... so when my hair dries, it gets, well, fro-like, but not as compact

background... hair length : 2.5in when fully extended

im in the process of growing out my hair, but any help would be greatly appreciated..

definetely talk to your hair stylist

think about a japanise perm

and growing out your hair is the best thing you can do

short hair has too much volume and when its longer its heavier!

avoid anything volume

try a ceremic straightener

i think surfer hair would be good in a longer pony tail- but you only have barley any hair-so i would gorw it out a little

Oooh hair questions, its been a while.

If you want straighter curls, try using a texturizer, its a milder form of relaxer, that helps to reduces curls.

Have you tried wax?. Wax is a great product because it holds hairstyle without it being hard or scrunchy. If you get the extra hold/hard wax, it can be almost waterproof, depending on the brand. Hard wax are much harder to remove from hair, which is the point because you are surfing and you hair will always be wet. I love Brylcream Hard Wax, that comes in a stick, Short Sexy Hair wax, that smells great and Uno Hair Gum, which feels like glue and sticks to hair all day. You can also try to use a hair mask, which is a thick and heavy duty conditioner, before you hit the waves. You hair will be softer and less frizzy afterwords plus shiny when hitting the waves.

You can either live with the curls by using wax or mousse. I like Wella and Sexy Hair products. Or fight it by blow drying it straight and using a straightening balm/lotion.

Good Luck with Great Hair.

its a couple options you have one is a blow out, when you get out the shower or when you hair is wet comb-or pick it out while drying it with a blow dryer it'll make the curls go away for a while or you can get a texturerizer. but if your hair is naturally curly its not much you can do that i know of
